July: Now and Then

This month has been a whirlwind of art and dance camps, play dates, and afternoon swims. (We’ve been at our local pool four days a week for the past seven weeks. I feel exhausted just typing that and I’m not the one taking–and loving–swim lessons.)

Summer may be fun and exhausting all at once, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Before the month is over, I wanted to share a quick glimpse at Julys from the past few years:

Wow, time passes quickly… our little girl isn’t so little any more and, oh, that darling little boy. They fill my heart with joy, that sweet family of mine.

Museum, Revisited

Three years ago we visited the Bay Area Discovery Museum when our daughter was nine months old:

Last week we visited the museum again and our daughter had such fun exploring:

playing with salmon at the stream table

Bay Area Discovery Museum
painting on a glass wall, with spray bottle and squeegie in hand

How much she’s grown in three years! Still cute as a button and super fun.

I may be biased, but I also happen to be right.

Where It All Began (Postcards From New Mexico Circa 2003)

A trip down memory lane…

My husband and I met eight years ago at Thanksgiving Dinner in New Mexico at his parents place. Yes, I’ve known my in-laws longer than I’ve known my husband.

My mother-in-law jokes that it was an arranged marriage.

A return to New Mexico always sets my heart aflutter as I remember the days we met and fell in love there.

A nice place to return to…
