Oh, yes!

He’s here!

Not only did he arrive right on time (on his due date), but he got here quickly (labor from start to finish lasted an hour and a half; we gave birth five minutes after arriving at the birth center!). He even weighs a full pound less than his big sister weighed when she was born.

We’re smitten.

What’s Really Going On

You may be wondering the REAL reason I’ve been blogging lightly over the past three months. Well, our daughter has some news to share with you:

Instead of blogging, I’ve been napping.

Yes, we’re having a baby!

After such a long journey, we’ve finally made it to the second trimester. The baby’s heartbeat is strong. I’ve been feeling him or her move around for several weeks now, having one big dance party after another.

Let’s all take a big sigh of relief.

We expect the latest Spritzer Leyba to arrive this February.

I’m hoping to head back to our regular blogging schedule just as soon as the second trimester burst of energy kicks in. I’ve got so much to share with you! Stay tuned…

New Spring Header

Spring may have arrived weeks ago, but I’ve finally gotten my act together to create a new header for the blog. Please refresh your browser to see our Spring themed header in action.

This particular one features the bird nest on our front porch and a recent home-school activity, carving and printing with potato stamps.

I’ve also updated this page featuring our previous headers with additional information about each to keep for posterity.

New Website Features

Well, hello there, dear readers. Boy did we take an unexpected break! After a week away from the blog, and some much needed R&R after our trip to Monterey, we’re back with lots to say.

First, a few housekeeping tidbits before our regular post goes live tomorrow morning.

You can now subscribe to our posts via email which means that any time we update the site we’ll send you an email (from The Creative Salad) with our entire post in it. No need to open a web browser, just click on the email and our whole post is there for you to read and enjoy.

Here’s how to subscribe:
Click here to be redirected in a new browser window to FeedBurner. Then click on “Get The Creative Salad delivered by email” link shown below:

I’ve also added a “Pin it” button at the end of posts for easy pinning to Pinterest:
Unfortunately you can’t see this button on the main page, but if you click through to the actual post (either by clicking on the post title at the top of each post or by clicking on the “Comments” link at the end of each post), you will see the “Pin it” button. (Thanks to kevin & amanda for the “Pin-it” how-to!)

I have a number of other website design related projects up my sleeve, but that’s enough for one afternoon.

Delicious Chia Seed Chocolate Pudding

We’ll see you back here tomorrow morning with a delicious and healthy chocolate pudding recipe. I know, that sounds like an oxymoron. Wait til you see the surprise ingredient! (And, no, it’s not tofu or avocado.) Ah, the suspense…

Secret Agent Josephine’s Book Tour

I’m excited to announce that our site is a stop on my favorite stealth Secret Agent and friend Brenda Ponnay’s virtual book tour that commences today!

Brenda has written three beautiful illustrated and playful picture books for kids of all ages: Secret Agent Josephine’s ABC’s: An illustrated picture book for children, Secret Agent Josephine’s Numbers, and Secret Agent Josephine’s Colors: An illustrated picture book for children.

For the Secret Agent Josephine Book Tour, 26 different blogs will be writing about her books. The tour begins today, November 14th, and continues through mid-December. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to visit all these blogs and collect clues along the way.
